This report is updated every Saturday for the incoming week (occasionally a bit earlier).
PLEASE NOTE: Most activities have limited space and require advanced reservations. During WEEK 43, sign-ups open at 9:00am in the Main Lobby. During WEEK 44, sign-ups open at the conclusion of the Monday Orientation at approximately 10:30am (first-come, first-served). If you cannot be there in person you may call us at 603-745-9900 and ask for the Activities department (or EXT-470 from from in-room). All activities start at designated times, so please arrive early. Schedule is subject to change, may be weather dependent, and may be cancelled for lack of participation or tardiness. Children must be supervised.

10:00AM - GUIDED HIKE ON THE SERENDIPITY TRAIL: The Serendipity Loop is a hidden gem right in the backyard of Loon Mountain. This gently rolling loop winds through a scenic mixed forest, offering peaceful surroundings, mountain & river views, and well-maintained paths. In the fall, it becomes especially stunning with colorful foliage blanketing the area. This easy/moderate hike is approx. 2-miles (round-trip) on a well-maintained path. $10 per person.
12:00PM - MATINEE MOVIE - LOST ON A MOUNTAIN IN MAINE (free event): The inspiring true story of 12-year-old Donn Fendler, who becomes separated from his family by a fast moving storm on Mt. Katahdin, Maine's highest peak. Rated PG. BYO treats.
1:00PM - HOMEMADE CANDLES: Create & customize your own scented soy candle in a mason jar. Located in the Fun Factory. $10 per craft.

10:00AM - GUIDED HIKE ON THE DISCOVERY TRAIL: Join us for a leisurely walk in the White Mountain National Forest on an easy and well-maintained 1.4-mile loop walk. This interpretive trail is educational, fun, conveniently located, and relaxing for people of all ages. It's a great way to stretch your legs! $10 per person.
12:00PM - MATINEE MOVIE - HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS (free event): An 80s classic! Rated PG. BYO treats.
2:00PM - MATINEE MOVIE - F1: THE MOVIE (free event): After a devastating crash in the 1990s, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) retires from Formula One to pursue other ambitions. But the hunger for the sport never goes away. When Sonny is contacted by his old friend Ruben he faces a new proposal that will see him return to mentor a young up-and-coming driver. Rated PG-13. BYO treats.
7:00PM - ASTRONOMY PRESENTATION WITH DOUGLAS ARION: A UNIVERSAL VIEW (free event): Where do we fit in the 'big picture' of the Universe? How has our understanding of where we are in space changed over time, and what does that mean to us as humans on Earth? Douglas Arion is the Executive Director of Mountains of Stars, and Professor Emeritus of Physics and Astronomy at Carthage College. Located in the movie theater. Free event, but a small donation at the door to support local science organizations is a nice gesture.
8:30PM - TELESCOPE OBSERVING (free event): Firstly, this event is entirely weather dependent and may need to be cancelled for cloud cover. Join astronomer Douglas Arion at the top of the parking lot by the Jackman building. We'll observe points of interest in the sky. -
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30TH

9:00AM - WATERFALL TOUR OF THE KANCAMAGUS: Join us for a scenic cruise over the Kancamagus Highway for a couple of short/easy walks to Sabbaday Falls (0.6 miles round-trip), and also Rocky Gorge (0.1 miles round-trip). We'll also stop at other scenic vistas for pictures along the way. Approx. 3-hour tour. $10 per person.
12:00PM - MATINEE MOVIE - THE PENGUIN LESSONS (free event): Tom Michell is a British teacher who moves to Argentina in the turbulent 1970s when the country is on the verge of a coup. When he rescues an orphaned penguin on the beach his whole life is transformed. Rated PG-13. BYO treats.

2:30PM - SUNSET BUS TOUR: During this interpretive historical tour we’ll visit a few of our favorite “secret" spots known for impressive scenery. Along the way, your guide will provide information about the Old Man of the Mountain, ski history, NH wildlife, and the iconic Hollywood actress Bette Davis (who was a local resident). Very little walking is necessary. Approx. 2.5-hour tour. $15 per person.

2:30PM - GUIDED HIKE TO "THE BEST VIEW IN NH": Join us for one of the most unique & exclusive walks in the region. This favorite, secret spot in Sugar Hill is off-the-radar and traditionally inaccessible to the public. The area is steeped in rich history, but the real pay-off is sweeping vistas of the Presidential range. We think it resembles the scenery from the movie The Sound of Music. This is approx. a 1-mile walk with some minor ups-and-downs. Return at approx. 5:00PM. $15 per person.
6:00PM - MATINEE MOVIE - THE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE (free event): A comedy of two estranged cousins (Paul Reiser & Colm Meaney) who never knew each other try to make amends for many generations of family dispute. This film is not rated. BYO treats.

1:00PM - MATINEE MOVIE - THE LEGEND OF OCHI (free event): A young girl learns to never go outside after dark because of forest creatures known as the ochi. However, when a baby ochi is left behind by its pack, she embarks to reunite it with its family. Rated PG. BYO treats.
2:00PM - UFO BUS TOUR: One of the most infamous UFO abduction stories in history happened around the corner from Pollard Brook Resort. In 1961, Betty & Barney Hill claim to have been abducted by aliens and can't explain a large chunk of "lost time". We will head out in the bus to re-trace their route on that fateful night. We'll make a few stops including a scenic view in Franconia Notch where they initially claim to make first contact, the official state historic marker that commemorates their story, a local mural of the alien, and we'll have the opportunity to shop for commemorative merchandise from this incident. Approx. 1.5-hour tour. $5 per person.

Located in the movie theater.
